I live in Florida, unemployed, no income coming in. I have exhausted my bank account. I had a heart attack and 3 stents placed. I had another heart issue and had to have a angioplasty placed in one of the stents (no insurance), went to the hospital again because of stress and thought I was having a stroke. I have been unemployed since 2010. I am diligently looking for work to no avail. I am applying for disability, but it has not established if and when I could it. I owe $145.00 for my electric bill and I owe $468.00 for my lot rent. I am forced to apply for early pension, but will not be effective till June or July of this year. If there is anyone who can help me get through this month, I would be most gratefull.

My power is going to probably be shut off today, but doesn't the law state that if someone has a medical reason for needing their power to stay on,like having Insulin in the refrigerator which I need and have due to being Diabetic,that the power cannot be shut off?
still down on my luck, i still cant quite go back to work yet because the baby is only 4 weeks old so im having trouble with my electric bill. i applied for help but 2 places said they didnt have enough funding and the third place hasnt given me an answer. My disconnect notice is for the 19 of January and my bill is 550. They are however sending someone to put storm windows in the trailer so it might help with my future bills. if anybody could help please message me.

In most states, the electric company is not allowed to shut you off if there are children under a certain age in the house. Check out the regulations in your state. Also, unless you are multiple months behind, the electric company usually will not shut you off.

Im in the same situation like everyone cant pay the light bill. Im wondering why the heck we have to pay for the light bill it should be free. I think water, food, light, housing it should all be free. Just like in the middle east. Its funny how we have to pay for things God gave us the ability to do and create. He didnt create money.. He created man and woman to care for the animals and the earth. Look what we have become. In San Antonio Tx we are ruled by one electric company City Public Service, this is the most greedy hateful company that I have dealt with. Every year the elderly die here from the cold winters and extreme heat. They just keep charging up those bills. They dont care to help people because they are the only electric company in san antonio texas. All Im asking is for God to please have someone else open another company here in San Antonio a little competition should knock them off their throne. I think every city should have at least two different light companies. Well ok I just had to voice my opinion. I WONT ASK for help cause their is no one out there who really cares. Gotta deal with it on my own.

Ok. Last year (boy I can't believe it's been a year) I lost my job. I've been trying to get one since. I'm a single mom. I sold my (broken) car last year to help us pay bills. I've been making it...somehow. I am eligible for food stamps. I signed up for the PIPP plan offered in my area, and I've recently started working online to make ends meet.My PIPP payments got behind, but for months now I've been paying at least the minimum. I usually get paid on the 15th, but that's saturday this month...and the shut off notice is for tomorrow. I just don't know what to do. I have no family that can help. They won't extend it. I'm stuck. I just got it in the mail today. I thought for sure I'd have until at least the 16th, which is Sunday, and since they wouldn't shut it off on Sunday I could just pay it first thing monday on the phone. if it gets shut off I will have to pay the whole almost thousand dollar balance to get it back on. the amount that has to be paid to avoid it is $37. Any ideas? Anyone wanna help? Haha. Just kidding, everyone has their own problems.
